Mardi Gras was cancelled this year because of the pandemic.  But it's hard to
keep New Orleanians from getting into the spirit of Mardi Gras.  No parade floats?
No problem.  How about house floats instead?  The "Krewe of House Floats" -
houses, beautifully decorated, many professionally done by Mardi Gras float
artists - have sprung up all over town and beyond.
There are maps online, so you can take a tour if you're in the city.  If you're away,
just type "Mardi Gras house floats" into YouTube's search engine for a virtual tour.
You may not be able to catch beads or doubloons, but you'll catch a glimpse of
a city whose residents always find a way to celebrate the happy things in life.
