One joy dispels a hundred cares.
-- Confucius
On with the dance, let joy be unconfined, whether
there’s any dance to dance or any joy to unconfine.
-- Mark Twain
Look for the joys that come in small, precious
packages and make the most of them.
-- Wilfred A. Peterson
There are those that give with joy, and that joy is their reward.
-- Khalil Gibran
Photo above and two photos below:  Tikal is the ruin of an ancient city
situated in a rainforest in northern Guatemala.
It was the capital of a
conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient
Maya.  It
is one of the largest archaeological sites of the pre-Columbian Maya
civilization.
In 1979, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This page is dedicated to the memory of my good friend, Marion Laudumiey Bourque,
who left this world July 18, 2018.  We have known each other since middle school
and she was much more like family than friend.  It wasn't easy to do a page about joy
today, my heart burdened with sadness as it is, but I determined to do it, because I
want it remembered that Marion brought joy with her wherever she went.

Marion and her husband, Ben, who preceded her in passing, were the world's greatest
Saints fans.  If you fancy that you see two bright lights somewhere around the 50
yard line in the Superdome come football season this year, it will be Marion and Ben,
together again, watching their beloved Saints from the best seats in the Dome.

I will miss you so much, my friend.  -- Nancy
Softly, the fog descends.  And inside, eyes through windows see
different versions of reality - depending on their point of view and
the level of the window they choose to look out and see it through.
-- Jim Metcalf
The excursion is the same when you go looking for
your sorrow as when you go looking for your joy.
-- Eudora Welty
Joy is the echo of God’s life in us.
-- Dom Columba Marmion
