Lost in the Crowd
Rex makes his way along St. Charles Avenue, approaching Canal Street, in the
1930's.  The old St. Charles Hotel (in its 3rd incarnation) can be seen behind him.

These days there are barricades along a parade route and the police do an excellent
job of keeping people behind them.  That doesn't appear to be the case in this photo
from the 1930's.  Even the band is lost in the crowd, the only thing you can see are
the tubas.  It must have been very slow going for the krewes in those days!
